This summer we participated in an AMAZING summer reading program. They had three levels of prizes for the kids, and Ethan earned all three! I read aloud to Micah and Verity, and although they only qualified for the first level of prizes, I couldn't talk the librarian out of giving me all of the prizes! So we enjoyed ice cream at Chick-Fil-A, a complete meal at the same establishment, and an end of summer baseball game at our minor league ball field! They gave the kids t-shirts (or "dresses" as it really looked like for Micah and Verity :-), and we got to parade around the field, Micah kicking rocks all the way. In the picture below, you can see us all on the big screen, including Jim who was taking the picture!
Unfortunately, "free" also meant half of Greenville had the same idea, so it was mobbed. And our free seats were in the blistering hot metal stands, so we waited a bit and snagged some seats in the shade where it was much more pleasant (consequently, I was much more pleasant then as well ;-).
We had fun...
...and stopped by our favorite ice cream shop, Spill the Beans, before heading home.
