Over and Out

Well, today is our last day in our house in PA! We are heading out to Jim's dad's today, the movers are here Thursday and Friday, and then we drive down to South Carolina Saturday and Sunday. We have been so thankful that the Lord has brought us up here for these past two years. Here is just a brief recap of what has transpired:

• June 2006-We moved to PA to be closer to Jim's family, specifically Jim's mom who was battling advanced colon cancer.
• June/July 2006-The day after we moved into our townhome, we flew to California for my sister's wedding.
• July 2006- Began attending Christ Community Church
• August 2006- Birth of nephew, Lucas Jeremiah Lyche
• October 2006- Ladies Seminar
• October 2006- Baby shower for Melissa, Jim's brother's wife.
• November 8, 2006, Jim's mom, Rosemary Kolmus, passes away.
• November 16, 2006- Birth of nephew, Levi Nathaniel Kolmus
• December 2006- First Christmas without Mom; Amber finds out she's pregnant.
• January 2007- Sovereign Grace Men's conference
• January-August 2007- Jim travels extensively (120+ days traveling)
• March 2007- New member's class
• June 2007- Anniversary trip to Yosemite/Tahoe
• July 2007- 5-year anniversary (I love you, Sweetie!)
• July 2007- Birth of niece, Elizabeth Joy Lyche
• August 2007- Jim starts new job with GE-Trailer Fleet Services
• August 2007- Birth of second son, Micah David Kolmus
• September/October 2007- Blur (ah.. life with an infant :-)
• November 2007- Micah starts sleeping through the night (those of you with kids will know what a momentous occasion this is).
• November 2007- Amber's sister Kristina finds out she's pregnant.
• December 2007- Christmas in PA with both sides of family
• March 2008- Kolmus Men's trip to Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air & Space museum
• April 2008-Jim gets laid off
• April 2008- Two weeks after last day, Jim gets hired at GE-Energy in Greenville, South Carolina (God is so gracious!)
• May 2008- We say our goodbyes and move to South Carolina.

As you can see, it has been a very full two years. We have suffered loss and celebrated new lives. We have traveled a good deal, but have also enjoyed the blessings of our family. Through it all, the Lord has taught us so much. We are just reveling in His kindness to us- He saved us and He continues to sanctify us. Thank you, Lord!

I was reading Romans 11 in my devotions this morning, and I came across this in verse 20, "... So do not become proud, but stand in awe." It is speaking to the Gentiles to not think of themselves more highly than Israel since they have been shown great grace and have been grafted into God's family, but to let that have a sobering effect that returns all of the praise to the Lord. What an appropriate verse for how Jim and I feel right now. It is sobering to think how kind God has been to us, sinners saved God's mercy. We do not deserve such favor, but God continues to pour out grace into our lives. We do not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds our future. So we are excited to see what God has for us in South Carolina. We know that He has a plan for us, and that His purposes for us are always good!

Thank you to those with whom we have had the privilege of getting to know, both in our church and in our family. We are indebted to your godly example as it has spurred on our faith.
