Build and Grow!

On Saturday Ethan and I had the opportunity to head over to Lowes and build a ball toss game.  It was the first time we have taken advantage of these "free" activities.  Free is in quotes because their obvious objective is to get Dad to buy something while he's in the store...and they succeeded!

Anyway, it really was a pretty neat program.  They gave him an apron, some goggles, a small hammer, and a kit of parts.  So my job was to help read instructions and risk my thumbs when it was time to nail it all together.  He did a great job!  I was very impressed that he hit the nails very straight and rarely missed.  He didn't hit my fingers at all!

When he finished they gave him a patch to show he completed the project.  Amber sewed it onto his apron over the weekend.  He really enjoyed getting to do the project.  I think it only took him about 15 minutes, but it was worth it.  When we got home he colored it with his crayons.  Just FYI, the website I went to for registration is https://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com/.  Home Depot does something similiar as well.

Also, an update on Leah.  Ryan called last night to say that the tube to her lungs to force breathing has been removed.  She wears a mask that encourages breathing, but she is doing it on her own now!  She's taking milk again and is pooping!  They heard her cry for the first time yesterday.  This is all very good news.  She's up over 2 pounds now.  Thanks for your continued prayers.  They are appreciated!

SO fun! It looks like he did a great job. (can I take a husband to that event?) :)

Glad to hear about Leah -- thanks for the update!
