A "Joy-Full" Visit

Last week my Grandma Joy came to visit from California.  She came in on Thursday and left Sunday morning, so it was a short visit, but also a very full one.  Jim and I enjoyed visiting with Grandma, and the kids enjoyed playing with her.  Here she is with Verity:

And here she is with Micah:

Micah loves his grandma, and would yell, "Doy!" and grin when he saw her at the house.

She was very gracious to play many games with Ethan, such as Sorry (the pics capture Grandma drawing a Sorry card and realizing what that meant!) and cribbage (sorry no pics), which he thoroughly enjoyed!

Friday we went out to lunch to enjoy some local fare- barbeque! (pulled pork for those of you not from the South). That evening we played some Wii bowling, which Grandma did very well at!  It was fun.

On Saturday we explored downtown Greenville.  The weather was GORGEOUS, so it made for a very pleasant day.  Here we are at the farmers market, the pedestrian bridge over the Reedy Falls, and some bizarre statue that Ethan wanted to have his picture taken with Grandma.

After some lunch downtown and some rest for tired feet, we went home and enjoyed some college football and pizza.  Later on that night, we "carved" pumpkins (Micah colored on a paper pumpkin, and Ethan drew a face on the pumpkin which Jim carved out).

We really had a great time with Grandma Joy, and are so thankful for the fun times we were able to spend with her.  Thanks for coming to visit, Grandma!

I'm jealous of the pictures and wish I was there to play too.
