This last week, Ethan had cub scout day camp. He had a great time. His den leader (not Jim since he was a little busy with work ;-) said that he was so smart and that he knew all sorts of things that the other boys didn't know. Her assistant told me how well-behaved he was. Good to hear those things. I've also noticed a few more "yes, ma'am's" in his vocabulary, which I don't mind in the least even if it's a little funny hear. It has been kind of strange having him gone though. Looking forward to having him back :-)
Micah is showing much improvement in his attitude and his willingness to obey... but we have a ways to go yet! Poor Micah didn't quite understand what was happening though when we took Ethan to camp on the first day. He kept looking in the back of the van and saying, "We forgot Ethan!" or "Ethan's missing." He was so excited when I told him that we were picking Ethan up, though in his words he said that "we're going to buy Ethan back home." After the first day, he got used to it though and wasn't so worried that we lost Ethan. Got to take him and Verity to the movies this week ($2 for the 3 of us to see a VeggieTales flick). He liked most of it until these cheese curl creatures starting chasing Mr. Lunt. Micah spent the rest of the movie on my lap- he's at that age where everything seems real, even digital cheese curls ;-). Oh well, maybe we'll have better luck next time!
And little Miss Verity. She's such a smart little girl. Okay, mommy-brag time: she knows her colors and is starting to recognize letters. Not bad for 2 years old! She's starting to do quite a bit of tattling though, so were trying to nip that one in the bud. She's a sweetie though. My favorite things she says right now are "prob-ly" (which she says to explain everything) and "pretty tail" (aka ponytail).
Ethan's last day of camp was at a waterpark so we did something similar and set up the inflatable pool in the backyard. Not quite the same thing, but Micah and Verity had a blast! We had shade for most of the morning and enjoyed some pineapple popsicles at the end. I even got a big smile from Micah who half the time doesn't like me to take his picture. He said he had a great time in the pool :-).
So that's it for now. I've got to go pick Ethan up from camp. I'm hoping to get some more posts in this weekend, including the van saga for those of you who don't know. Hope you're having a great Friday everyone!
