Halloween Traditions

Yeah, we're behind.  But, we're catching up.  This year we reinstated our annual visit to Niven's farms to see the animals and pick our pumpkins.  It's a fun time to show how the pumpkins grow and spend some time out enjoying the fall season.

Once home, it was time for decorating.  Amber had some fun 'eyes' the kids could glue on the pumpkins.  Then they went to town decorating with markers.  Daddy gets the job of cutting the pumpkin each year and, even with the Kolmus characteristic of hating to get messy, helps with scooping out the slime inside.

This year the kids really enjoyed their costumes.  Ethan as Mario, Micah as Thomas, and Verity as Dorothy.  We've never been big fans of buying costumes, but we got some great second-hand deals this year!

Before trick-or-treating our community always has a cookout with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks.  All the kids show up in their costumes and enjoy seeing how their friends dressed up.  Here's our neighbor, Austin, as a Power Ranger.

It was a fun fall season this year!
