To Shower or Not to Shower

Back at the beginning of November Amber made the trek to Pennsylvania for Jamie's baby shower.  She was very excited to go, but there was one problem...Ethan and I had a camping trip for Cub Scouts that weekend.  So, she braved the trip with Micah and Verity.  That is a long trip to have to drive by herself, but I'm glad she was able to do it.  And she was glad to go.  Here are a few pictures we've borrowed off of Debbie's Facebook page from the event:

While Amber and the younger two were on there way to Pennsylvania, Ethan and I spent Friday night camping on our own.  It was a beautiful fall day up in the mountains!  This was a lot of fun.  We worked on building a fire and enjoyed some s'mores.  We took a walk after dark, and Ethan greatly enjoyed finding all of the campsite numbers as we walked.  I think that was his favorite part of Friday night!

In the morning we went canoeing (one of my favorite camping pastimes) and then broke camp.  We were able to squeeze in a quick 3-mile hike to a waterfall (another one of my favorite things to do), and then it was on to Scout Camp.  Camp's always fun.  There are bows and arrows, bb guns, games, and campfires.  Ethan even participated in a skit in front of all of the packs...and loved it!  He's a fun kid.  Oh, and to explain the blog title...we didn't shower, of course.  We were camping!
