Six Very Full Years

Yesterday was our sixth anniversary, but we celebrated it on Friday because we had a sitter lined up (Thanks so much to Miss Ruthie for taking care of our boys!). We wanted our date night to be casual and fun, so we went to Red Robin for dinner and Frankie's Fun Park to hone our mini-golf skills. We had a really nice time talking at the restaurant and hanging out on the golf course. The weather was so pleasant, and it wasn't too crowded, which made everything that much more enjoyable. We bought ice cream on the way home and enjoyed watching a movie to end the evening. It was a very nice evening.

As I said, we have been married for six years, and they have been six very full years. Jim and I spent some time talking about all that has happened since we have been married, and it is hard to believe that we have only been married for six years. We have had two children and have one on the way. We have lost three grandparents, one parent, and an unborn child. We have moved four times, have purchased three houses, and Jim is on his fourth job (being laid off once). I have received two degrees (both undergrad), and Jim has received an MBA and obtained his PE license. We have experienced both financial blessings (in the form of raises in salary and an inheritance) and financial strain (this is the second time we have had to cover two mortgages at once). On top of all of these things, we have gone through several rather serious trials, both in our marriage and in our family. But through it all, the Lord has sustained us and strengthened us. He has been so faithful these past six years, and we are thankful for His steadfast love and care that we know will carry us through the next six years and beyond!

Happy, Blessed Anniversary. The Lord is indeed faithful to us when we don't have the capacity to do anything but stand on His Promises. We are so blessed by your relationship with Him as well as the oneness you share with each other in Him.
