A Visit from Aunt Rosemary and Mr. Pron

Last weekend Jim's sister, Rosemary, and her boyfriend, Steve, whom the boys know as Mr. Pron, braved the long trek down south to spend the weekend with us.  We had a really nice time with them- catching up, playing games (much to Jim's chagrin ;-), and chatting way too late into the evening.  They drove all night Thursday into Friday morning, so we got to spend the bulk of Friday with them, as well as all day Saturday and Sunday (they left Monday morning).

While they were here, we decided to go on a mini-hike downtown.  We drove to Cleveland Park, walked to Reedy River Falls, and enjoyed a simple picnic lunch with a view of the falls.  It had rained profusely the night before so it was pretty muddy in parts and the water was a murky brown, so the views weren't as great, but the weather couldn't be beat!  It was overcast all morning, which made it considerably cooler so the walk was very pleasant.

(Note how nicely Rosemary's shoes match Steve's cast!)

About halfway through the walk we came to a nice place for a photo op so we took some pictures, of course!

While we were at the falls, a group of ducks (which apparently can be called a badelynge, bunch, brace, flock, paddling, raft or team... just in case you wanted to know) waddled by.  The kids were fascinated by them.   Of course Micah, who spent the whole morning with a squirter fan in his hands, wanted to give the ducks a refreshing "shower," since he had been giving himself showers all morning (very considerate of him, don't you think? ;-) After lunch we hiked back, drove home, and all took naps.

The next day, we went to church, walked around Bob Jones University a bit, and went out to lunch at Quaker Steak and Lube (which Rosemary kindly and sneakily paid for).  Steve braved the "Atomic" wings, not knowing that they were 50 times hotter than the hot wings he had already eaten!  The siren went off and he signed the waiver.  Jim was impressed.  Let's just say they were hot enough, even for Steve!

We headed home after lunch and spent the rest of the day relaxing and hanging out.  Even though we were all sad that they had to leave, we were so grateful that we got to spend so much time with Rosemary and Steve.  Thank you both for coming down!

Side note: After they left, Micah kept asking for days, "Where Wo-mary Pwon go?" I kept telling him that they had to go home, and he would just stare at me with a pondering look.  You can almost see the cogs turning in his little mind.  He doesn't quite understand why he can see people the one day and not see them the next.   Poor kid!  Needless to say, the kids still miss their aunt and Mr. Pron ;-)

So glad we got to spend some quality time. Can't wait to see you and the kids again in a few days!

Oh and happy birthday, Amber & Micah :)

(early I know, but still!)

Micah's comment reminded me of Eliot this afternoon. When I arrived at the Ing's he was very excited to give me a hug, show me around, and ask if I was going to stay and live with them :)

Sounds like you had a great time with Rosemary and Mr. Pron, and I liked hearing about the ducks. I was a fan of everyone taking naps when you got home that day too :)

Looks and sounds like a great visit!
Love all the pictures, and Micah asking where "Where Wo-mary Pwon go". Too cute!
